Living in the Pennines, walking the moors and old fields up above the Calder Valley I happen upon desire paths all the time … I think about them often, both the reality and intrigue of their creation… but also because as artists my partner and I have created ‘pathways’ that are new in areas of eg health, education, and social action … it hasn’t been easy but these lines are becoming stronger now, clearer, more defined as others follow
Thank you for the encouragement and elegance of your writing in such a difficult time. I must thank Anderson B Rubik for bringing your work to my attention at a time I needed it most. You remind me that I have always walked my own desire paths and they have always led me Home to myself and to the Greater Good. My sincere thanks.
Thank you! I loved reading this. I had never heard of desire paths before, and consider this a great gift. I will sit with it cuas i feel it ping-ponging in me. Something is bound to come up as a response soon.
Beautiful writing and ideas. I just don't agree on the optimism. Systems and structures may always be bypassed by free desires, and you pointed a good and healthy example of it. Yet, we could easily think about USA invasion of Iraq, Israel disrespect on UN's warnings about its criminal acts against Palestinians facilities and civil populations. Both examples of free, wild , unstoppable desires of a subject against systems of rules
In the 70's, an architect friend used the term "paths of desire", and I have never forgotten it.
I like your metaphor of social change. At some time, the pressure will be so great, it will happen.
Thank you, the name really stuck with me too, after the first time I heard it!
Very interesting!
Thank you, I’m happy you enjoyed it!

That's a comforting read, Sonia. Thanks; I like this change of perspective.
Thank you so much! I’m glad it resonated with you
You write brilliantly. A rare occasion these days anywhere.
Well it’s obvious that you are dedicated to craft as well as meaning. It’s no small thing.
Thank you David, that’s very kind.
